Student Council

Walt Whitman Student Council is composed of 4th and 5th grade students that were voted in by peers. Third grade students are able to participate as representatives that help with planning and organizing different fundraisers.  Mrs. Manley and Mrs. Crooks work together with the students to create a wide variety of events during the course of the school year. Some fundraisers that have been held are: selling of glow sticks for Halloween, selling candy canes in December, and selling pencils for Valentine’s Day. Money raised has gone towards purchasing recess equipment for everyone to enjoy.  Student Council has also hosted hat week with funds donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s School & Youth campaign. In addition to fundraisers for various causes, Student Council also plans spirit weeks through out the school year as well as the end of the school year ABC countdown. Please contact Mrs. Crooks or Mrs. Manley for more information about Whitman School’s Student Council.
