During its January meeting, the Community Consolidated School District 21 Board of Education voted unanimously in favor of naming Stephanie Stallman as the new principal of Poe Elementary School, effective July 1.
Stallman will succeed Christy Campbell, who is set to retire in the spring. She has spent the past three years as Poe’s assistant principal and, prior to that, was a special education teacher in Township High School District 214 and a social studies and special education teacher in Prairie Hill School District 133.
In recommending her approval, district administrators said Stallman’s experiences in the classroom and as the assistant principal will be a tremendous asset in the new role.
“I am so excited for the whole Panther community, students, families and staff! Stephanie is an exceptional leader and more than that a wonderful person,” said Campbell. “Poe has a special place in my heart, and I feel so grateful to have Stephanie taking the lead! It’s going to be hard to leave, but knowing Poe is in excellent hands makes me so happy!”
Stallman’s initial annual salary will be $115,000 per year for a 220-day administrative contract plus the standard administrator benefit package.
